Upper Valley Curling Club

The club will provide instruction and all of the equipment needed to curl, including bands to help you maintain your grip on the ice. You should bring:

  • Wear warm, layered clothing that is easy to move in and remove if you get too warm. As the arena can be cold, we recommend a hat and gloves.
  • A second pair of shoes with clean non-skid soles to change into before going on the ice. Sneakers or boots with a good grip are fine, please wash the soles and remove all loose dirt before arriving at the arena. Dirty ice is dangerous!
  • You are welcome to bring a water bottle (plastic or metal) on the ice.
  • You may wish to wear a well-fitting skate, ski or bike helmet.

Participants will start with an off-ice introduction to the concepts and rules of the game and then move onto the ice for hands-on instruction and a short game. Good curling!
